Tell Congress to Oppose Efforts to Limit Domestic Exploration

United for Jobs: This week Congress will take up an energy bill that includes dangerous provisions to limit domestic oil and gas exploration in western states. Limiting domestic production will only increase energy prices. With gas prices at an all time high, what America needs now is MORE energy, not less. Less U.S. oil also means that we will have to import more foreign oil. Thousands of good paying jobs depend on the U.S. oil industry; limiting domestic production means those jobs will be lost.

America's dynamic economy depends on one thing more than any other – affordable energy. It feeds industry, keeps the information bits flowing, transports our goods, promotes our mobility and enables Americans to enjoy the highest standard of living in the world. Over the decades, as technology has improved and become more available, energy production and consumption has become cleaner and more efficient. Despite these gains, though, some environmental groups continue to attack America’s energy consumption. Several radical measures have been proposed that would not merely curb emissions but restrict energy use and slow economic growth.
