Ozark Guru: The initial impact of a sever ice storm in the Ozarks was previously reported on February 1, 2009: "The devastation to the trees was beyond imagination. To quote one source, 'The property damage has been exponential. Limited business, and all walks of life were affected.' As trees snapped and crashed all night, it sounded like a war zone." The clean up of trees destroyed by the ice storm has had the effects expected with a major deforestation project. While the ground cover has bounced back for cleared areas, the impact on some of the communities inhabitants has been revealing.
