Info Post
ARRA News Service Contributor, NFRA Board member and FRC Research Fellow Ken Blackwell was on C-SPAN | Washington Journal addressing questions on the Republican Candidates and the 2012 Election.

Blackwell talked about the Republican presidential field ahead of the Illinois primary, the role of social issues in the campaign, the latest polls and who has the best chance in a general election against President Obama. He responded to telephone calls and electronic communications.

He predicted that eventually there will be a clear winner of the GOP primary and not a brokered convention.   One caller claimed that it is irrational for a minority (meaning Ken Blackwell)  to be against limited government because if  government had been limited then minorities would have no rights and the auto companies would not have been saved.  Blackwell handled the question with poise and ease and addressed the inter-generation theft of wealth of future generations by Big Government.  However, he did not identify that the Republican Party was the party that advanced the civil rights bills.  Blackwell identified that he was for neighborhood involvement at all levels of government from the school board to city to county to state to national issues.  He considers voting is both a right and a duty!  When asked about voter id, he identified in the past the focus was on getting people registered and access to the ballot box.  Presently, there is concern with protecting the integrity of the ballot box against voter fraud and non-citizens voting in elections.
