Info Post
This evening the US Senate voted on the Disclose Act,  S. 3369, previously discussed earlier at Today: Dems Schedule Vote Threatening The 1st Amendment.   Republican Senators voted together and blocked the bill which takes 60 votes to bring up the bill.  The vote was 51-44.

Democrat Senate Leader Harry Reid pulled a procedural move as Senate Leader changed his vote to "no" which allows him to bring the bill up again this session, possibly tomorrow.   Reid is using this bill and other issues to push tthe progressive agenda and to delay voting on House passed appropriations bills, jobs bills and stopping all taxpayers from suffering a tax increase On January 1, 2013.

Reid said, [Election campaigns are] "now waged by shadowy political attack groups posing as social welfare organizations."   Harry Reid's former campaign in 2010 was supported by liberal billionaires and and presently Barack Obama current campaign is also supported by people like mega- billionaire George Soros. But that didn't stop Reid from playing politics and stating: "Perhaps Republicans want to shield the handful of billionaires willing to contribute nine figures to sway a close presidential election."  Reid didn't mention the free speech issue or that the courts prior decisions on this issue.

Progressive author of the bill Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI).  Yes he is one of the junior progressive democrat senators desiring that the Democrats adopt the so-called nuclear option of abandoning the Senate procedure of requiring 60 votes to advance bills, thus protecting the minority party.  Whitehouse  said, [Election campaigns are] "now waged by shadowy political attack groups posing as social welfare organizations."  Whitehouse didn't address the liberal superPAC American Bridge 21st Century funded with large sums by George Soros,  Film director J.J. Abrams and some of the nation’s biggest labor unions.  This superPAC is run by  David Brock, founder of the controversial Media Matters for America.  Aaron Klein reports on this progressive superPAC, the connection of media matters with the White House, Acorn, MoveOn.org and the Tides Foundation.
