One week after his announcement, Huckabee revoked the funds he had announced as seed money for a cancer center to be named after the late Lt. Gov. Win Rockefeller and to established an endowed chair to research diabetes. In a letter dated Jan. 4 to UA System President Dr. B. Alan Sugg, Gov. Mike Huckabee rescinded $2 million in funding he had announced for researching cancer and diabetes after legislators objected to a proposed shuffling of University of Arkansas system dollars to pay for the projects. ...
