Even though the new Mexican consulate in Arkansas, situated in Little Rock, does not open its doors to the public until the beginning of March, there are already Arkansans speaking out that registrations consular will send off the new diplomatic representation, only promoting the arrival of more illegal immigrants to the state.

The Mexican government asserts that the American institutions are the ones that should decide for themselves if they accept the registration or not.

But critics say that only the illegal foreigners have a need of the registrations because the national Mexicans that reside legally in the U.S. already have Social Security cards, “Green” cards, driver's licenses or other legal forms of identification. Nearly 6.3 million Mexicans live illegally in the U.S., according to the estimations of CentrĂ³ Hispanico Pew, an organization of investigation based in Washington DC., and of the total 40,000 illegal foreigners of diverse ethnic origins, they live in Arkansas.
