Little Rock, Arkansas: Yesterday, February 23, 2007, U.S. District Judge Bill Wilson Jr. ruled that the Little Rock School District has achieved unitary status. After nine years the LRSD is no longer under Federal Court supervision and monitoring. In the ruling, Judge Wilson declared that the Little Rock School Board "can now operate as it sees fit" and is "answerable to no one except the LRSD's students and patrons and the voters who elected them to office."
