H/T to "Ol' Broad's Ramblings":
Global Warming Led to ‘Black Hawk Down,’ . . .
A top Democrat told high school students gathered at the U.S. Capitol Thursday that climate change caused Hurricane Katrina and the conflict in Darfur, which led to the “black hawk down” battle between U.S. troops and Somali rebels. Rep. Edward Markey (D-MA), chairman of the House (Select) Energy Independence and Global Warming Committee, also equated the drive for global warming legislation with the drive for women’s suffrage in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Heaven help us, there has GOT to be something in the water! Or, perhaps, someone is spiking the food being served on Capital Hill? Women’s suffrage and the phony global warming panic BS? Even after REAL scientists have disputed the nonsense, the weasels in charge are still pushing a lie. This garbage isn’t about the climate, it’s about money, pure and simple. . . .

There’s a LOT of that ignorance business going on, most notably with elected, and non elected, officials in countries around the world.

“Yes, that part of the world is subject to drought at times, but it has very little to do with global warming,” said Ebell. “It is subject to drought whether the global average temperature is going up, down, or staying the same. To say you know the conflict was caused by global warming is to show how really ignorant you are of the scientific issues involved.”
Was the drought back in the “Dust Bowl” years in the 1930’s caused by global warming? The decade was full of extremes: blizzards, tornadoes, floods, droughts, and dirt storms. Sound familiar?

The students who testified at the event, most of whom had lived in New Orleans prior to Hurricane Katrina in August 2005, described the difficulties they faced after the storm and blamed global warming for the disaster.

"Katrina woke me up and made me pay attention,” said 17-year-old Danielle Wold from Harvey, La. “One of the worst disasters in history made me want to do something. In 100 years, New Orleans could just be another Atlantis.”
Yes, Katrina sucked. It’s still sucking….thanks to the constant pounding, on the news, in the schools, in just about every venue you can imagine.
Bordes said that he thinks the warming of the atmosphere could lead to a situation in which his home, which is near the superdome in New Orleans, could become.
. . . Excuse me while I barf. The Boracle’s talking points are getting old. What is causing the most of the damage is the hot air blowing out of politicians, and their endless whining of “we must do something to stop it”. Just when did man decide he controls the climate? When did we the humans “take charge” of the planet?
Markey finished his talk by comparing the debate against global warming to the 20th century fight for women suffrage. “Back 100 years ago, women rose up and said we want the right to vote, and they were successful,” he said. “Now, you are like the green generation and you are rising up and saying we must ensure the planet does not suffer the worst consequences of climate change.”
The green generation? Oh, fer the love of pete. Made up of little stoners, children of libtards….oh, excuse me, I mean “progressives”. Women being granted the right to vote by the 19th Amendment is NOTHING like the push by politicians to take more of your money to promote a phony cause perpetrated by the biggest phony of all, who is already making MILLIONS off this foolishness.

Man’s arrogance is growing by leaps and bounds. We do NOT control the planet. We better learn to live WITH it. . . . [Read More]
