Betsey Martin, KARK 4-News, Little Rock: The Arkansas Republican Party says it's primed for victory in 2008. State republicans were on hand for the grand opening of their victory office at the Skyler Shopping Center in Springdale Saturday. Earlier this month, they opened an office in Conway, and they're set to open another office in Searcy next month.

Despite a recent poll that shows Sen. John McCain with a 10% lead over presidential rival, Sen. Barack Obama, local republicans say they're not taking anything for granted in the November election.

And as for those coveted state house and senate seats, leaders say republican candidates stand a good chance to gain some ground in November... "I think we have a good chance of picking up at least five seats in the house, and again it's the best slate we've ever had. We're going to pick-up a lot and surprise quite a few people," Elizabeth Aymond said with the Arkansas Republican party.
