But rather than aspirin and a shower, politicians have prescribed whiskey -- and strong whiskey at that. In just a few months, they have managed to spend more than $3 trillion of your dollars. With nothing to show for it, they now want more. It is easy to spend today and to borrow from the future. It takes strength—even courage—to make the tough choices and to say that the spending spree must stop.
