Sonny Bono
Bill Smith, Editor: While the below ALG video addresses Obama's career economic inconsistencies, I felt the "beat" to say I love the background music by Sonny and Cher Bono. Now there was a pair of inconsistencies.

Bono ran for the Republican nomination for United States Senate in 1992, but the nomination went to the more conservative Bruce Herschensohn, and the election to the Democrat Sen. Barbara Boxer. Bono and Herschensohn became close friends after the campaign. Bono was elected to the United States House of Representatives in 1994 to represent California's 44th congressional district. His wife, Mary Bono Mack, at the time of his death served five more years representing the district and then Continued as A US Representative serving California's 45th District beginning in 2003 and is still serving in that position today in Congress. Bono Mack is the only Republican woman in California's congressional delegation. [Source: Wikipedia]

On the other hand, Sonny's then wife Cher (Cherilyn Sarkisian) has been a staunch Democrat. She has attended and performed at Democratic Party conventions and events. Cher is an icon for the gay community. [Source: Wikipedia]

"The Beat Goes On" is a Billboard Hot 100 top ten hit song that was written by Sonny Bono and recorded by Sonny & Cher. Sonny and Cher had mismatched lives but as entertainers they made beautiful music together. And the Beat Goes On . . .
