Republican Party of Arkansas (RPA) Chairman Dennis Milligan announced today that Deena Burnett Bailey has been appointed to serve on the State Board of Election Commissioners. Mrs. Bailey is the widow of United Airlines Flight 93 hero Tom Burnett. She is a board member of the Twentieth Century Club, Coordinator of the Ministry of Mothers for the Little Rock Diocese, co-author of the book Fighting Back: Living Life Beyond Ourselves, board member for the organization Girl Ambition, and speaker for the Young America's Foundation.

"I am honored to have been asked to serve in this capacity," said Deena Burnett Bailey. "This is a great opportunity to give back to a state that has given so much to my family." The State Board of Election Commissioners is made up of unelected individuals that work together in order to prevent fraud and abuse during election cycles. Bailey will serve a four-year term with the possibility of serving up to two terms.
