As the old saying goes, "to the victor goes the spoils." Pelosi (D-CA) has appointed her a slate of "liberals" to chair House committees:

Homeland Security Committee: Bennie Thompson (D-MS)
Oversight And Government Reform Committee: Henry Waxman (D-CA)
Judiciary Committee: John Conyers (D-MI)
Rules Committee: Louise Slaughter (D-NY)
Appropriations Committee: David Obey (D-WI)
Legislative Branch Subcommittee: James Moran (D-VA)
Financial Services Committee: Barney Frank (D-MA)
