If Congress doesn’t act, another 18 million taxpayers will owe an extra $3,000 more in income taxes, on average, because of this supposed tax on the “rich” that dates to 1969. Thirty-seven years ago, incomes were lower and the AMT tax affected only a few hundred people. Now it's a fiasco!
