by Michael Tackett, The Swamp: This presidential campaign has been decidedly un-Republican. The GOP likes things neat, orderly and with a fair degree of certainty. The party tradition is to honor the candidate who has stood in line the longest. It also has been quite un-Democratic. The Democratic Party playbook is usually about bringing together coalitions of interest groups--unions, civil rights organizations, abortion rights supporters--after a huge internal fight. And for decades, the party has relied on African-Americans and women. Now it finds itself likely having to choose between one and the other for its nominee. . . .
