Americans for Prosperity hosted a National Health Care Town Hall this afternoon in front of the U.S. Capitol with over 2,000 activists telling Congress to keep their hands off our health care. Congressman Bob Goodlatte of Virginia and Congressman Patrick McHenry of North Carolina stayed in Washington, DC a day after the House of Representatives left for vacation to speak to our activists about the potential government take over of health care. Congressman Goodlatte rattled off a few facts about HR 3200, all of which received a rousing disapproval from the crowd, including the fact that the bill would create 53 new government agencies and programs. Congressman McHenry stuck around after the town hall to speak to hundreds of constituents from North Carolina. The rest of our AFP activists went into the Senate office building to request a meeting with their respective senators. |
