Info Post
Dan Noble said in a Holt Campaign press release today that "Senator Holt has been eviscerated for his stand on illegal immigration and called extreme by Mr. Halter. His opponent has used the terms 'inflammatory... race-baiting and demagoguery' more than once in reference to Senator Holt's stand on illegal immigration." Halter has publicly stated that he disagrees with Holt's sponsored SB 206 (2005) to deny illegal aliens state benefits except in the case of emergency.

Senator Holt was vindicated by a recent survey that revealed that more than 2/3 of Arkansans supported Senator Holt's SB 206 to deny state tax payers benefits to illegal aliens. "A view held by 2/3 of the electorate could hardly be called 'extreme'." The electorate is far more in tune with Senator Holt's views than the views of Halter.

Senator Holt has a clear position on illegal immigration. He led the fight in the Senate to defeat HB 1525 which would have given scholarships and in state tuition to illegal aliens. If HB1525 had been a tie, the Lt. Governor would have had to vote to break the tie. Noble asked, "Which way would Halter have voted" if he were Lt. Governor? Similar bills may be proposed in future legislative sessions. Halter continues to hide and not identify whether he supports amnesty for illegal aliens and open borders. Halter, an unknown quantity in Arkansas and voters want to know where he stands on illegal immigration. Fortunately, Arkansans know where Jim Holt stands - he stands with them!
