ARRA comment: Maybe at age 64, Filner can't handle the stress of airport travel or believes he is beyond treating the "little people" with respect. Welcome congressman to the real world! Note that this is the same California liberal who wants all tie up all U.S. defense-related agencies by forcing them to comply with all federal and state environmental laws. Imagine States enforcing their current and future wacko anti-military conceived environmental laws on US Military bases, testing ranges, weapons storage, etc. Next, these State and local agencies would be arresting and charging Federal military members and interfering with required mission activities.
