On Fox News Sunday and as reported by the AP, Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee says unofficial presidential candidate Fred Thompson, who is expected to jump into the 2008 race next month, will have trouble meeting expectations about his candidacy. Huckabee, a former Arkansas governor, lags nationally among his rivals in fund raising and public support. Thompson, an actor and former Tennessee senator, fell short of his recent fund-raising goals and lost a top aide yesterday, but he has polled well in the crowded field. Of Thompson, Huckabee said, “People are expecting him to basically come in and be the fifth head on Mount Rushmore.
