H/T To The Center: In a recent interview, former Arkansas governor and GOP nominee Mike Huckabee said that an offer by John McCain for the number two slot on his party’s ticket would come as a “surprise” to him. . . . McCain’s decision as to whether or not he will pick Huckabee as his running mate will depend on the Arizona senator’s game plan for the fall as well as his degree of comfort with the idea of having the Arkansan on the ticket. "I'm not sure I'm the right fit for him -- that's something only he can know," said Huckabee. "The vice presidency is not a job that a person seeks. It's a job that seeks the person, largely dependent upon how the president is going to feel in terms of comfort level. It would be a real surprise if I got that call.
