Info Post
by U.S. Rep John Boozman: In a bipartisan move, the Senate passed, 72-25, an amendment from Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) which expresses “the sense of the Senate that General David H. Petraeus, Commanding General, Multi-National Force-Iraq, deserves the full support of the Senate and strongly condemn personal attacks on the honor and integrity of General Petraeus and all members of the United States Armed Forces.”

I applaud the bipartisan move by the Senate to condemn MoveOn’s unwarranted attack on a four-star general serving in a war zone. It is my hope the House leadership can move in a similar bipartisan fashion to pass our own condemnation. In an exchange on the House floor this afternoon, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) said he would not commit to bringing up legislation condemning the Moveon.org attack ad against Gen. Petraeus that ran last week in The New York Times.
