Polls: GOP remains fluid but races tighten at the top

Polls results for GOP candidates is getting even more fluid and unpredictable. However the top two candidates: "Newcomer" Fred Thompson and "Oldie" Rudy Giuliani remain on top vying for first place.

Harris Interactive, Fred Thompson leads by 4% with 32% of respondents. Rudy Giuliani: 28%; John McCain with 11%, and Mitt Romney: 9%. [Source]

Rasmussen Reports 9/21, Fred Thompson: 24% tied with Rudy Giuliani: 24%; John McCain: 15%; Mitt Romney: 13%. Mike Huckabee atop the second tier at 5%. [Source]

Gallup Poll 9/14-16, has Giuliani leading Thompson by 8%: Rudy Giuliani: 30%; Fred Thompson: 22%; John McCain: 18%; Mitt Romney: 7%;. Second tier candidates: Ron Paul: 4%; Mike Huckabee: 4%. [Source]

Reuters/Zogby Index 9/13-16, Rudy Giuliani led with 26%: Fred Thompson: 24%; John McCain: 13%; Mitt Romney: 7%. In both parties, about 20% of likely voters undecided leaving plenty of room for the races to shift. [Source]
